How to compare AED to INR exchange rates
A rate of ₹25.70 and ₹25.85 per dirham look close. On 10,000 AED the difference is ₹1,500, which is why comparing houses before you send matters more than comparing on the day. The table above lists every house we collect, with each rate measured against the mid-market rate so you can see the margin in one column.
What the vs mid-market column means
The mid-market rate is the wholesale midpoint. A house quoting −0.50% is charging half a percent for the transfer; one quoting +0.10% is effectively cheaper than the market midpoint. Negative numbers are normal, not a warning: every house has to earn something.
What else changes the amount you receive
- Fees. Some houses charge a flat transfer fee on top of the rate. Ask before you send.
- Rate locks. Online transfers often lock the rate for a window (sometimes 30 minutes). A branch visit may quote a different number by the time you reach the counter.
- Amount. Very small transfers sometimes get a worse rate or a minimum fee.
- Timing. Rates refresh during the day. The update column shows when the number was collected.
An example with three houses
Say three houses quote ₹25.70, ₹25.80 and ₹25.91 for 10,000 AED. The first pays ₹257,000, the second ₹258,000 and the third ₹259,100. The gap between the cheapest and the best is ₹2,100 on a single transfer, which is more than most people save by waiting a week for the rate to move.
How we collect these rates
Each house's public rate page is read every two hours. When a house changes its rate during the day, the next collection picks it up. If a page stops responding, the last known rate stays visible with a stale label until it updates again, and a house with no recent data is dropped from the table rather than shown with an old number. Manual corrections from the operator are labelled as manual.
When the best rate is not the best option
A house with the top rate can still be slower, busier, or charge a fee that eats the difference. For a small monthly transfer, convenience may matter more than ₹20. For larger amounts, the percentage gap adds up quickly and is worth checking every time.
